How much does Depop take?

By the FlipFees Fee Desk · verified against Depop’s published scheduleUpdated

In the US, Depop takes no selling commission. It removed the old 10% fee on July 15, 2024. What it still charges is a payment-processing fee of 3.3% plus a flat $0.45 on the item price plus the shipping the buyer pays. So on a $40 sale Depop takes about $1.77 and you keep about $38.23. The one fee that is left

Depop is the odd one out among resale apps: for US sellers there is no percentage commission at all. The single unavoidable charge is payment processing, and it has two parts, a percentage and a fixed amount, applied together on the item price plus the buyer-paid shipping:

Why the flat 45 cents matters

A percentage is the same slice of any sale. A flat fee is not: it is a bigger bite the cheaper the item. On a $3 sale, the $0.45 alone is 15% before the 3.3% is even added, so the effective rate can top 18%. On a $60 item, that same 45 cents is under 1%, so the effective rate settles near the 3.3% headline. If you flip a lot of low-ticket pieces, the fixed fee, not the percentage, is what eats your margin, and bundling small items into one listing is the usual fix.

Depop fees by sale price

Same 3.3% + $0.45 at every price, but the effective rate collapses as the item gets more expensive. Item price only, no shipping, to isolate the fixed-fee effect:

The 3.3% never changes. The whole swing is the fixed $0.45. Source: Depop published fee schedule, verified August 24, 2026. Run your own numbers in the Depop fee calculator.

What Depop does not take from you

Depop charges buyers a separate marketplace fee of up to 5% plus up to $1 at checkout. That is paid by the buyer on top of the item price, so it never comes out of your payout and is not part of what you keep. The only optional seller charge is Boosted Listings, paid promotion that adds a percentage of the sale when a boosted item sells. If you never boost, the 3.3% + $0.45 is the whole story.

Common questions

How much does Depop take from a sale in 2026?

For US sellers, Depop takes no selling commission. It removed the old 10% fee on July 15, 2024. What is left is a payment-processing fee of 3.3% plus a fixed $0.45 on the item price plus buyer-paid shipping. So a $40 sale costs about $1.77 in fees and a $10 sale costs about $0.78, because that flat 45 cents is a larger share of a smaller sale.

Does Depop still charge a 10% fee?

Not for US sellers. Depop dropped the 10% selling commission for US sellers on July 15, 2024. The only unavoidable fee now is the 3.3% + $0.45 payment-processing fee, plus an optional Boosted Listings fee if you pay to promote a listing that then sells. Always confirm the current terms in your Depop account, as fee structures change.

Why are Depop fees so high on cheap items?

It is the fixed $0.45. A percentage is the same share of any sale, but a flat fee is a growing share as the price falls. On a $3 item, that 45 cents alone is 15% of the sale before the 3.3% is even added, so the effective rate can top 18%. On a $60 item the same 45 cents is under 1%, so the effective rate drops close to the 3.3% headline.

Do buyers pay a fee on Depop too?

Yes, and it is separate from the seller fee. Depop charges buyers a marketplace fee of up to 5% plus up to $1 at checkout. That comes out of the buyer's total, not the seller's payout, so it is not part of what you keep and is not counted in your net.
