The mechanics
How Depop seller fees work in 2026
Depop is the odd one out: for US sellers there is no selling commission at all — it was removed on July 15, 2024. The only unavoidable fee is payment processing: 3.3% plus a flat $0.45on the item price plus the buyer's shipping.
That flat $0.45 is the whole story. A percentage is the same share of any sale, but a fixed fee is a bigger bite the cheaper the item. On a $3 sale the 45¢ alone is 15% before the 3.3% is added — so the effective rate on a cheap item can top 18%, while a $50 item pays about 4.2%. If you flip a lot of low-ticket pieces, that fixed fee — not the percentage — is what quietly eats your margin, and bundling small items into one listing is the usual fix.
The one add-on is Boosted Listings: optional paid promotion that costs an extra 8.0%of the sale when a boosted item sells. Toggle it above to see whether the visibility pays for itself at your price. Separately, buyers pay their own up-to-5% + $1 marketplace fee at checkout — that comes out of their total, not your payout, so it isn't counted here.

Why a cheap Depop sale costs far more than 3.3%
Same 3.3% + $0.45 fee at every price, but the effective rate collapses as the item gets more expensive — because the flat 45¢ is a huge share of a small sale and a rounding error on a big one.

Why do Depop fees feel so high on cheap items?
It's the fixed $0.45. A percentage stays the same share of any sale, but a flat fee is a shrinking share as the price rises and a growing one as it falls. On a $3 item, $0.45 alone is 15% of the sale before the 3.3% is even added — so the effective rate spikes below about $10. On a $50 item that same 45¢ is under 1%.
Did Depop really remove its seller fee?
Yes, for US sellers. On July 15, 2024 Depop dropped the 10% selling commission that used to apply. Sellers now pay only the payment-processing fee (3.3% + $0.45), plus any optional Boosted Listings fee. Always confirm the current terms in your Depop account, as fee structures change.

Do buyers pay a fee on Depop too?
Yes, and it's separate from yours. Depop charges buyers a marketplace fee of up to 5% plus $1 at checkout. That comes out of the buyer's total, not your payout, so it isn't part of what you keep — this calculator excludes it.
Does Depop charge processing on shipping and tax?
The 3.3% + $0.45 applies to the item price plus the shipping the buyer pays. Whether sales tax is inside the processing base is not clearly published, so we exclude tax here to avoid overstating the fee — see our methodology for that choice.
